 REUNION LOCATION

Our Reunion will be held September 12 (arrival) through September 16 (check-out), 2018 with the Banquet on Saturday night, September 15 in Charleston SC, The hotel (Crowne Plaza) is ready to take your reservation now!  They recommend you call 1-843-744-4422 to make your reservation rather than attempt to book your room online.  When you call to make your reservation, give the codeword “UCR” or USS Concord Reunion to get the special rate.  This hotel will sell out and summer in Charleston brings many tourist so hotel accomendations will be limited!

(Charleston)  represented by our Ship's Store operator Bob Smith:
Whether your a history buff, super shopper, or beach bum Charleston, S.C. has you covered, (Oh and don't forget the good food, and southern hospitality). The Navy Base in Charleston closed a long time ago but Patriots point host the USS Yorktown and associated other WWII fighting ships and if you havent eaten aboard a ship lately, perhaps lunch at the Chiefs Mess on Yorktown would be just what you need. Everything from the H.L Hunley (which sank U.S.S. Housatonic in Charleston harbor), Boone Hall Plantation, Fort Sumter, to Horse drawn carriage rides and Stunning Harbor cruises await you. INPUT FROM THE PARTY PLANNERS

“A COMPLETE REUNION”

A Complete Reunion (our party planners) is excited to again be your reunion planner. We are looking forward to a fantastic time in Charleston, SC. There are so many things to see and do there – we can definitely keep you busy. We promise to allow time for the hospitality room talk and “sharing of hospitality”.

Reunion will be held September 12 (arrival) through September 16 (check-out), 2018 with the Banquet on Saturday night, September 15. We have contracted the Crown Plaza hotel for this event. The room rate is $134 which includes breakfast for 2 people in a room. The hotel is located directly across from the Tanger Outlet Center so shop-a-holics will have ample opportunity to enjoy the shopping experience.

Tours for the group will include time at Patriots Point with time aboard the USS Yorktown. The Medal of Honor Museum on board this carrier is not to be missed. The park at the Yorktown also includes the USS Laffey (DD-724) and the submarine USS Clamagore (SS-343). Also, there will be time to explore Fort Sumter National Monument and/or Fort Moultrie. For those who are into history – explore the Hunley. For those of us in the nuclear age, it is unbelievable that this submarine was actually “pedal-powered” by the men crammed inside.

There are a number of beautiful, historical plantations and the weather should be really good. We’ll be sure you have some time to visit the downtown open market and see the sites of the historic district in this beautiful city.

We do hope to see again everyone that was in Norfolk in 2016 AND we challenge you all to inform and bring one of your Concord buddies along for one of the best reunions ever.

Sherry Mills, Jessica Monteith and Barb Schroeder

A Complete Reunion
