Reunion 2010 was an historic event as it was the "first" reunion for the USS Concord (AFS-5) Veterans Association.
Shipmates from all eras reunited to swap sea stories, rekindle old friendships, and to celebrate the life of the Navy's
finest AFS! Many shipmates toured the Naval Base and MacArthur Memorial. One shipmate said the Naval Base tour "brought
tears to my eyes" as he visited the base he hadn't seen 40 years. Shipmates also enjoyed the Spirit of Norfolk
dinner cruise at the Norfolk waterfront next to the battleship Wisconsin and the Nauticus. The Saturday business meeting
established the Association by electing the first slate of officers, reviewing, modifying, and accepting Association By-Laws,
and deciding that reunion 2012 will be in Boston, Massachusets! The Saturday evening All Hands banquet was enjoyed by all.
Captain Herbert Taylor shared some humorous sea stories from his days as Commanding Officer! All are looking forward
to continuing to build the Association and to attending the great Boston reunion!
portraits of all attendees can be seen by clicking on the shipmate's name in the list of attendees at the bottom of the page!
